Lee is a brand of American denim jeans that was first made in 1889 in Kansas. The company was started by Henry David Lee and was initially known for its dungarees and jackets. Its growth was prompted by the Union-All work jumpsuits that were first introduced in 1913.
H.D. Lee founded the company that made the Lee children’s overall line. In the 1930s, it started becoming the leading manufacturer in the US of work clothes. The storm ruined the entire stock of Buddy Lee merchandise, except the dolls that floated. In 1954, he expanded into casual wear.
